This Wednesday we have scheduled a chat at 8pm in the evening. We've taken the decision to open up this scheduled chat to non-subscribers too, who will be able to access the chat facility here. Please note, that the facility will become available shortly before 8pm that evening, and removed again at 9.30pm.
For subscribers the chat facility is available 24/7 through the subscribers section of the website.

Live and kicking

Tonight we launched :MyChart after months of building, followed by recent beta testing. If you've been looking for something online that can be used to collate all your study details, sort them and print them out - then this for you!

Son completes unfinished Tolkien

An unfinished book by JRR Tolkien has been edited into a completed work by his son for publication. Christopher Tolkien has spent 30 years working on The Children of Hurin, which The Lord of the Rings author started in 1918 and later abandoned. The story involves the elves and dwarves that feature in much of Tolkien's work.

:MyChart is coming

Back in June we received a message from a visitor in our guestbook that read;

Just a thought,but would it be possible to have a members area where we could have an online History Chart where we could fill in our collections online instead of catologing them on the numerous pieces of paper curretly used? with the possibility to print out when completed or updated?

Well, we thought it was a great idea, and have been working away on making this work, and we're pleased to say that this Friday (22nd) we are launching DragonsCavern :MyChart - an online collection storage system that will let users catalogue their collections, tag them with the range a study has come from, label them as "owned", "seeking", "absent", "wishlist", and add comments and reviews to your studies.

Once you have your catalogue built you can add more to it, delete from it, alter details within in and most importantly print out all of it, or choose sections of it to print out.

We think this is just what collectors have been looking for, and our beta testers seem to agree with us. Keep an eye out on the website from this Friday, or contact us to find out more details.

We thought we'd give you advanced warning of the next chat planned for Wednesday 27th September, at 8pm UK time. Following the pop up problems caused by the previous chat using the forum facilities, we've set up a java chat in the subscribers section on the main website. To access this, you'll need to be a subscriber to the FREE monthly newsletter (we suggest you contact us to get your username and password quickly, and not fill in the online form because you'd then have to wait until the next newsletter to get your username and password).
We don't know what will be discussed, but if it's like the forum at the moment then the H Samuels trilogy pieces, annoying eBay sellers, and your favourite fantasy books stand a good chance of being mentioned.
We'll remind you nearer the time, and look forward to seeing you there.

Super New News

Hot on the heels of last months vote - where over 80% of you told us you didn't have a local store to buy studies from - we've been talking to a long standing collector of Myth and Magic who has told us that he will be opening his own store selling M&M in the near future. They will also be offering web sales.
Even better is that not only will they be selling NEW studies, but as they already trade in the retired market they have a large collection of older studies too that will be offered for sale.
After speaking to the collector, they are also intending to sell the independent studies, as well as other items too.
