Xystos have just announced within the forum that this years Extravaganza will be taking place at Alton Towers on Sunday August 10th.
Also today, DragonsCavern have spoken to a contact at Xystos who would firstly like to thank all collectors who made excellent suggestions for events to be included at the extravaganza. The good news is that a lot of those suggestions have been approved for the event.
Another exciting development is that Xystos are looking for a serious collector who would be willing to take either all or some of their collection to the extrav, and take part in a Q&A session about why they collect, how they started, what their first piece was, etc. The studies you might choose to take if you're selected could be those rare prototype studies that you've managed to win in previous years, or some of the rare red bead studies available in the early days, etc. Contact Xystos via the forum with your interest (and mention what you could take along / why you collect etc)
Away from the Extravaganza, we also discussed the club newsletter - The Methtintdour Times - and how Xystos are looking to make it into the collectors magazine it once was. But to do this, they need your articles / stories / photos / letters. If you've got something you would like to have included, please visit the "Ask Xystos" area of the forum and tell them what it is.

It's been a long wait, and it's caused a lot of bad temper within the forum, but the collectors club is now kicking into gear fully following the company changeover.
The paperwork for this year has reached most people - (if you haven't got yours yet - visit the forum and Ask Xystos directly 'why not') - and today here at DragonsCavern we received the long awaited little white box from the postman containing the club presentation piece for 2008 - The Dragons Rest.
Now we just await the club magazines later in the year, and of course the announcement of this years extravaganza date and location (you can get early ideas about this in the Extravaganza 2008 area of the forum).
Never one to sit around and do nothing, we've been thinking about ways to make the DragonsCavern blog even better, and today we're pleased to announce the launch of the DragonsCavern Spoken Feed service.
Since the launch of the blog, we've offered users the option to subscribe to the RSS feed of the articles and receive the latest straight to their desktop / browser or Feed reader, but now, we can offer a spoken feed for all new articles. Simply click on the "Listen Now" button above left and hear this article.
Using technology from Odiogo, our text feeds are analysed, and a synthesized voice reads out the content. As with the text feed you can subscribe to this too. If you use the audio feed on the latest generation iPods, you can listen and read at the same time!

Have you ever wanted to be able to contact a company and ask them that question that has been burning away in your head? Well, the new owners of The Tudor Mint, Xystos, are so keen to get collectors feedback that they have offered forum users the chance to ask them questions directly. Just log into the forum and visit the "Ask Xystos" area and leave them a message. Please be aware that the following applies to the "Ask Xystos" area of the forum;
A message from Xystos to collectors of Myth and Magic;
"We are currently planning the Myth & Magic Extravaganza and I was hoping that you could raise the topic in your forum.
Basically I would like to know what the collectors would like to see at the event. What they liked about past events etc.
We are currently trying to confirm dates and locations. I will let you know when confirmed".
