The inclusion of a new version of the collection list within the latest club magazine (Issue 46) left me scratching my head in confusion when I looked through it, as I mentioned in a recent post.
It was all to do with the inclusion of a study named "Homage To The DragonLord", ref #3410, that was listed within the charts, but no information existed about it. I did find an image of it on the mini-brochure that is present in the boxes of the recent Valiant Clan studies, but could find no more information. After contacting Craig at Xystos, I now have the answer. Here is the reply he sent to me;
"Homage To The Dragon Lord is proving to be a real thorn in my side. This piece was pulled, along with the entire 2008 launch of pieces due to quality issues. I was later informed that it was being released Spring 2009 only for it to be pulled again. It is being released but not until Feb 2010. The factories have not used the new design inbox brochure, hence it is still being advertised and I completely forgot to change the History Chart."
So there you have it - as we already knew with the late arrival of some pieces - they were scrapped due to not being up to the standard expected. Homage To The DragonLord seems to have suffered doubley though. Let's hope it's not third time unlucky when it's due for release!
