The Sorcerer Summons...

So the Sorcerer has summoned us all, and tomorrow those who live in the "mid-lands" have the opportunity to head to Uttoxter Racecourse for the first of three Myth and Magic Roadshows, held by TMCollectables.

We'll be attending this one, and hope to see you there too. If anything happens during the day, we'll tweet it live from the event (@dragonscavern) before mentioning it in a blog posting later on in the day.

Tracking down a study...

The inclusion of a new version of the collection list within the latest club magazine (Issue 46) left me scratching my head in confusion when I looked through it, as I mentioned in a recent post.

It was all to do with the inclusion of a study named "Homage To The DragonLord", ref #3410, that was listed within the charts, but no information existed about it. I did find an image of it on the mini-brochure that is present in the boxes of the recent Valiant Clan studies, but could find no more information. After contacting Craig at Xystos, I now have the answer. Here is the reply he sent to me;

"Homage To The Dragon Lord is proving to be a real thorn in my side. This piece was pulled, along with the entire 2008 launch of pieces due to quality issues. I was later informed that it was being released Spring 2009 only for it to be pulled again. It is being released but not until Feb 2010. The factories have not used the new design inbox brochure, hence it is still being advertised and I completely forgot to change the History Chart."

So there you have it - as we already knew with the late arrival of some pieces - they were scrapped due to not being up to the standard expected. Homage To The DragonLord seems to have suffered doubley though. Let's hope it's not third time unlucky when it's due for release! If I get an image, I'll drop it into Twitpc - so you'll see it appear on the Twitter list on the right of this screen.

Updates to the Concordance

The latest information for the Concordance (taken from the latest issue of The Methtintdour Times) has now been added to the Concordance to make sure it's up to date.

New images, New logo!

The new standard and large studies are now listed on the main website with images for all (with the exception of 3411 - The Bridge over the Abyss). You'll also notice that we have also redesigned the main website logo so that it is in keeping with the logos on both this blog and on The Concordance.

One change I've made is that the search icon is no longer shown at the top of each page - but the menu bar does now carry a search option to allow you to access the search facility still.

Hope you like it all!

PS: If anyone knows any information about 3410 Homage To The DragonLord, please contact me with the info you have!

A New Concordance

Those eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that over the last few days "The Methtintdour Concordance" has changed.

It was previously hosted by an external company, and the fact that there were adverts splashed across every screen never sat easy with me. This weekend I took the decision to rehost it myself, and so now The Concordance is ad-free on the DC server.

The downside of this is that, whereas before there was the possibility of other collectors editing the pages and adding content, I am the only person who will be able to make changes.

However, I'd trade a little work for an ad free site anyday. Hopefully, you'll agree as well!

Shop Online

There's a new image on the sidebar to the right of this page (see below right), and a new link on every study page throughout the website. The TMCollectables website is up and running.

Offering a one stop shop for the latest studies, as well as retired studies from previous years too, ordering is simple. Best of all, P&P is free in the UK.

Changes are coming

With recent Health concerns (fortunately these are now behind me), the site has been abandoned over the past few months. During this time I've been thinking about how to continue keeping everyone updated with the latest news and developments in the world of Myth and Magic.

As a result, I've come to the following conclusions;

1. The blog and the newsletter are often duplicating news. There are also times when I delay news for the newsletter that could be sent out instantly with a posting on the blog. Therefore the blog will become the main area to find out the latest news. In addition to the blog, our Twitter feed can offer breaking news instantly.

2. The newsletter will no longer be sent out. Subscribers to it will still have access to the subscribers section of the website exclusively (for the moment, see point 3)

3. The subscribers section of the website will be opened up to all at the end of this year, allowing subscribers and non - subscribers to access the contents within it.

4. The main website will continue to run as it has done previously, along with the forum, :MyChart, The Methtintdour Concordance, classifieds and mobile site. The exceptions to this are mentioned in point 5.

5. The monthly vote within the newsletter will no longer continue to operate (unless there is a demand for this feature). The previous votes will remain on the website as reference. The same is true of the newsletters page.

I am hoping that these changes will allow me to keep the site fresher, whilst requiring less time on my side. If you have any thoughts, please feel free to leave a comment below.

More updates completed

:MyChart requests are now up to date. A reminder for all concerned - a :MyChart account will only be activated if you receive the newsletter, or are a member of the forum. Email addresses that do not match either a newsletter or forum address will be rejected.

Newsletter requests have also been approved and are up to date.

Forum Requests

We're back up to date with forum requests at the moment. Some people may find that they have two forum requests in their inbox - this is because we weren't sure how far we'd got with previous requests, and may have duplicated some as a result. We apologise for spamming anyones inbox with duplicate messages.

During the week we are (hopefully) going to be able to get up to date with the :MyChart requests, and also add images of the latest studies to the website. (PS - these images are already available to anyone who follows our twitter feed)
